Energy audit is a vital exercise for all Distribution companies to find out the loss pocket in order to take & measures to curb the same to be come & remain as a viable utility.

CESU is conducting energy audit for 33kv feeders, 11kv feeders & distribution transformers. The losses found beyond the permissible limit in HT & LT systems are being taken care of by the meter checking squad & field units to bring down same.

The Details are

1- Apex. vs. 33kv feeder Energy audit. Energy audit done -7 nos. Out of 28 nos. of Grid substation.

2- 33kv feeder Energy Audit. Energy audit done – 44 nos. Out of 114 nos. of 33kv fdr.

3- 33kv feeders having 33kv consumers meter reading from APR to JUNE-11. Energy audit done 18 nos. Out of 39.

4- Energy audit of 33kv feeders having loss more then 10%. - 5 no’s.

5- 11kv Energy audit of - 128

6- Abstract of Energy audit done.

ENERGY AUDIT & REDUCTION OF LOSSES IN ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

Losses in electrical energy occur due to various reasons and have technical as well as financial implication for the utility. Energy audit is a tool for accounting every unit of electrical energy at every stage of energy transformation for reduction of losses & improving efficiency, performance, reliability and stability of electrical system at optimum cost. There is a direct saving of energy (and so additional energy is available for sale), reduction in power purchase cost and consequent increase in revenue for the utility. Indirectly there will be improvement in voltage profile at various modes and at consumer premises. This will happen without making major investment in existing infrastructure.

ii- Dedicated feeder = 6 ( Chilika – Balugaon Grid, Railway – Angul Grid

Bajarangiwali alloy- choudwar grid, Ipisteel, Opl, scaw - Gundichapada grid

Iii- Line under disconnection = 1 (Jagannath Spinning Mill)

iv- Stand by = 1 (Nimapada )

V- Energy Audit to be done = 108+6 (Dedicated) =114

Vi- Energy Audit done = 44

Vii- Steps are being taken to bring rest 70 nos.
